Mayor Bissen's impossible position.

The sad state of shock journalism.

Judge Bissen's Transition to Mayorship Marred by Unprofessional Journalism

At a recent press conference , Mayor Bissen bore witness to the concerning decline in the standards of journalism today. An aggressive reporter, seemingly more interested in confrontation than fact-finding, launched into a barrage of accusatory questions.

Journalist: "How many children are missing?"

Mayor Bissen " I don't know."

"Yes you do, how many children are missing?" the journalist shouted, insinuating bad faith. Further pushing boundaries of professional decorum, the reporter declared, "You ruined it for everybody, you're a disaster."

This incident not only highlights the challenges public servants like Mayor Bissen face, but it also shines a light on the need for a return to ethical journalism. Judge Bissen shortly after the confrontation ended the press conference; this was an "L" for the entire public. While a free press is foundational to democracy, its credibility rests upon maintaining standards of integrity, balanced reporting, and basic respect.
