Judge Todd Eddins Unanimously Confirmed to Hawaii Supreme Court
Last month Governor David Ige nominated Judge Todd Eddins to replace associate Justice Richard Pollack, who retired in July after reaching the court’s mandatory retirement age of 70.
On Thursday the state Senate confirmed Judge Eddins as Hawaii’s newest associate Supreme Court justice with a unanimous vote of all 25 senators.
After Senate President Ron Kouchi announced his confirmation in the Senate chamber, Hawaii State Senator Karl Rhoads introduced Eddins, and his family via video.
“I’m pleased to introduce our new associate justice of the Supreme Court, Justice Todd Eddins,” Rhoads said, followed by applause from senators.
As a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Eddins was famously known as lead counsel for Former Mayor of Hawaii County Billy Kenoi. In the landmark case, the jury aquitted Kenoi of all charges.
